Mendel documentation
Mendel is a memecoin launchpad on Robinhood Chain where coins carry DNA: they're born from a breeder with a genome, can breed into new coins, and can wire themselves to a live price feed — crypto or tokenized stocks — so they react to the market — burning or defending their own supply. And they're built to be hard to rug. This is the reference; for the quick walkthrough see How it works.
1 · What is Mendel
Most launchpads mint an inert token on a curve. Mendel gives every coin three things a normal memecoin doesn't have:
- DNA. Each coin is expressed from a genome carried by a breeder NFT, and coins can breed to pass genes down a bloodline by Mendelian inheritance.
- Reactions. A coin can read a live price feed — crypto (BTC / ETH / LINK), a tokenized stock (AAPL, TSLA, …), or the MAG7 basket — and burn its supply on a pump or defend its floor on a dip — for life.
- Anti-rug economics. No premine, locked graduation liquidity, and creator fees that vest as the coin stays healthy (and claw back if it doesn't).
It runs on Robinhood Chain and settles in native ETH — no wrapped tokens to manage.
2 · The genome & breeding
Every coin begins as a breeder — an NFT that carries a genome of 7 genes. The genes shape how the coin behaves once launched:
Genetics are Mendelian: each gene holds two alleles (one from each parent) and which one shows is resolved by dominance. A recessive trait doesn't vanish — it can resurface generations later. That makes line-breeding a real game: rare, powerful bloodlines are bred over generations, not bought.
You get your first breeder in the Genesis Lab — either mint a genesis breeder (a founding line with balanced starting genes) or breed two breeders you own into a child. Breeding mixes the parents' genes plus a mutation chance and spends one fertility charge from each parent. Minting a genesis breeder is free — you only pay network gas. Breeding costs a small 0.001 ETH fee.
3 · Launching a coin
When a breeder is ready, you turn it into a live coin two ways:
- Bonding curve. The coin trades on its own price curve, rising as tokens sell, and graduates to a locked Uniswap V3 pool once it raises its target. Choose a mode — Spawn (smaller target) or Apex (larger).
- Instant Launch. The coin skips the curve and is born straight onto a locked single-sided Uniswap V3 pool — tradeable, and on Dexscreener, from block one.
Either way, the whole supply goes to the curve or the pool — there's no premine, so a creator holds nothing to dump. You can add an optional dev buy in the launch transaction (on Instant Launch it lands before any sniper can trade).
Trading. Curve coins buy and sell straight from the curve. Instant-Launch and graduated coins trade on their pool — and you can buy & sell them right on Mendel. At graduation, a curve coin's reserve tokens and raised ETH migrate into the locked pool and it trades freely from there.
4 · Reactions
The namesake feature. A coin wired to a live feed builds a reactive reserve (funded from a slice of its trade fees). When the feed moves off its recent level, a slice of that reserve fires a buyback:
- Burn on pump — when the feed rallies, the coin buys its own tokens and burns them: permanent deflation, upward pressure.
- Release on dip — when the feed drops, it buys tokens and holds them in the coin's treasury to defend the floor.
The trigger tracks a local move (not a lifetime high), so a coin keeps reacting in any market. It never mints new supply — it only spends its own reserve — and a cooldown plus a capped reaction size bound the impact. How sensitive it is and how hard it hits are set by the coin's Potency gene.
Reactions run automatically (a keeper watches the feeds and fires them) and they're lifelong: a curve coin reacts on the curve, and after graduation it keeps reacting on the locked pool — funded by the pool's own trading fees. A coin that reads the market never stops.
5 · Creator rewards & why it's hard to rug
Every trade pays a small trade tax (1% by default, up to 4.8% depending on the coin's Fee gene). It fans out four ways:
The creator's share vests, not lump-sums: 25% is claimable day one and the rest streams while the coin stays healthy. A bonding-curve coin vests everything the moment it graduates; an Instant Launch vests fast — about a day, or when it clears a small fee milestone. A slice of every coin's fees also streams up its bloodline to ancestor coins. You claim any time from your portfolio.
Or buy back & burn instead of claiming: the same vested ETH goes straight from escrow into a buy of your own coin and is burned — it never touches your wallet. Value accrues to every holder through deflation, and because it's a one-way burn recorded on-chain, doing it is a public signal that the creator is building, not extracting. It's opt-in, per claim, and shows up as a badge on the coin page.
Why it's hard to rug:
- No premine — the creator never holds a bag to dump.
- Locked liquidity — graduation and Instant-Launch liquidity sit in a locked pool.
- Clawback — unvested creator fees are returned to holders if a coin is drained or left unhealthy.
- No payday for quitters — a rugged coin never graduates, and rugging one coin poisons its whole bloodline's royalties.
The winning move is simply to build a real, reputable bloodline.

FAQ
- What does it cost to get started?
- Minting a breeder is free — you pay only network gas. Breeding costs a small 0.001 ETH fee. Trading pays the coin's trade tax (1% by default).
- What chain is it on?
- Robinhood Chain. Add the network from any page's wallet prompt, and fund your wallet with ETH on Robinhood Chain.
- Do I have to leave the site to trade?
- No. Bonding-curve coins trade on the curve, and Instant-Launch / graduated coins trade on their Uniswap pool — both right on Mendel.
- Which feeds can a coin react to?
- All via live Chainlink price feeds on Robinhood Chain: crypto — BTC, ETH, LINK; tokenized stocks — AAPL, TSLA, NVDA, AMZN, MSFT, GOOGL, META; and the MAG7 basket. Stock feeds only update during US market hours, so a stock-reactive coin reacts when markets are open and rests when they're closed.
- What is MAG7?
- MAG7 is the “Magnificent 7” basket — the seven mega-cap tech stocks (AAPL, TSLA, NVDA, AMZN, MSFT, GOOGL, META) combined into a single weighted-average feed. A coin that reacts to MAG7 tracks big tech as a whole — one coin, the whole market — instead of a single name.
- What makes a coin “graduate”?
- A bonding-curve coin graduates when it raises its target amount of ETH; its liquidity migrates into a locked Uniswap V3 pool and it trades freely from there. Instant-Launch coins are born on the pool and don't graduate.
- Is this financial advice?
- No. Memecoins are high-risk and experimental. Only use funds you can afford to lose, and do your own research.
